Following the guidelines laid out by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the HP State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA) facilitated the creation of a platform for effective coordination among the Government agencies and Non-Governmental Organizations in all phases of disaster risk management. The HPIAG had immense potential to contribute significantly to the endeavors of the HPSDMA through the involvement of NGOs in the processes pertaining to risk reduction.
